Karnataka: Why go

A state in southern India, Karnataka was once home to the empires of ancient and medieval India, and has a very varied cultural heritage. It’s famed for its Unesco-listed Hindu temples, aromatic green forests, excellent wildlife reserves and endless beaches, and is one of India’s top tourist destinations.

Its capital is Bangalore, often referred to as India's Silicon Valley because of its numerous IT companies, which export their services all over the world. But it's also the base of several world-class health sanctuaries - enjoy some R'n'R alongside the A-list. Equally popular is Mysore, which has fabulous festivities during the Dasara festival, fascinating historical sites, and excellent shopping potential.
