This peaceful beachfront hideaway quietly proves that Phuket still has its hidden corners. Here on the sheltered shores of the Cape Panwa peninsula lies an intimate collection of tropical pool villas, all staring out to sea. Directly below them is Khao Khad beach, where the water is calm, and the sand is untrodden. Owners Oliver and Adelaide first discovered this hidden spot when he paraglided in from the nearby ridges. The pair were astounded by its seclusion, and later that year discovered a run-down property nearby that was ripe for renovation, so they set about their dream of creating a restorative nature retreat on the jungly shore.
Life at Soul is good for the soul. Mornings begin with colourful breakfasts at the Beach Cafe, set right on the sand and serving delicious plant-based food. Then you can spend the day living out your tropical island fantasy. There are free kayaks for exploring the bay, plus boat trips to coral islands, SUPs and paragliding on offer. Or you can bliss out with a massage before finishing back on the beach at sunset, clinking cocktail glasses. Couples and honeymooners looking to switch off will be happiest here, though there is a two-bed villa that would suit families or friends wanting privacy without being completely cut off from civilisation. If your idea of a holiday is waking to sea views, brunching on the beach, and resetting among exotic nature, this is an immensely relaxing place to do it.
